Latest version of our camino map now looks completely different. We’d welcome any comments!

Went to a Canadian Company of Pilgrims gathering on the weekend. Fantastic event and really well organized. There seems to be people going everywhere. The camino boom continues. There was great demand for the north coast route. I had 5 people ask me when we where bringing out a book to the path! Didn’t sell any Via de la Plata though.
Our friend Daphne leaves to walk the way in two months so maybe we should ask her to map it? Don’t know when we would have the time to do that as well as the camino frances map. We need to look at production methods and if it is economical to print only 1000 copies for a Northern Route Map. If it is then maybe we have found our next project.
Need to finish this one first. We have made great progress though the map has taken a revolutionary overhaul.
I had one of arty friends look at the colours. He is teaching colour theory to video game disigners. He liked it. Even the pink!!!! Must be the pantone colour bridge! No expense is to much for Pili Pala.
Back to work
We keep on thinking that we have something cracked then look at it again two days later and decide it is rubbish. Once more we have ditched our urban sprawl and reinvented it to make it clearer with constant sized roads. We are also thinking that we should locate on the map where the albergues are and all churches. Problem is they often move year to year around towns, the albergues that is not the churches!
Our new/old headache is the camino itself. How do we highlight it under roads and through urban sprawl and how big does it need to be?
Sent away to Tienda Verde for more maps! We have so many maps of Spain now. When we where rescanning some in we realized that we had missed a huge chunck off one map. Opps. And best not to make stuff up so we had to get some more.
Planning a night out at a portuguese restaurant to inspire more cartography.
We have cracked the urban sprawl problems and now have a much better looking map. We will post a new picture once we have sorted out our latest road issues solved.
We had a great meeting last night and have put together a work plan to get the map done.
We need to redraw at 6 maps from scratch as they where not scanned in right and we didn’t realize this until we started adding detail. Only a weeks work lost there! Once that is done we can start laying down the details and clearing out the map crap.
Sorry to all those people out there who think the map is already out. Opps! The delay and waiting will be worth while as the map will be so much better.
